Founded in 1964, Transmission & Fluid Equipment, Inc. was built on a simple principle: solve problems the right way and stand behind the solution. What began as a local operation has grown into a trusted partner supporting OEMs, maintenance teams, and industrial operations across the United States.
Today, TFE operates ISO 9001:2015 certified facilities designed for high-volume, repeatable hose assembly and dependable component support. Our operations are structured to support both planned production and time-sensitive needs, with a focus on quality, consistency, and on-time delivery.
As customer requirements have evolved, TFE has continued to invest in processes, partnerships, and in-house capabilities that support long-term reliability. Whether assisting with equipment builds, sustaining production, or responding when challenges arise, we take ownership of the work and follow it through.
WHAT WE DO
TFE provides fluid power and power transmission solutions supported by disciplined processes and experienced teams who understand how equipment is designed, built, and maintained. Our people work closely with customers to support OEM applications, production requirements, and ongoing operational needs.
Our capabilities include custom hose assemblies, hydraulic tube assemblies, push/pull control cables, machining, welding and fabrication, conveyor belting, and on-site support. These services are delivered by trained technicians and application-focused staff who prioritize accuracy, repeatability, and on-time execution.
By combining in-house capabilities with trusted manufacturer partnerships, our team helps customers navigate specifications, timelines, and changing requirements—providing practical guidance and dependable solutions when it matters most.

TFE is recognized as one of the largest hose assembly operations in the United States and holds multiple manufacturer certifications, including HAF and Certified Hydraulic Assembly Fabricator status with Gates, BrennanBlu™ BluChip Distributor status with Brennan Industries, and Certified Synflex Assembler status with Danfoss. These partnerships reflect a shared commitment to quality, consistency, and performance.
As an owner-distributor of Affiliated Distributors (AD), North America’s largest industrial buying and marketing group, TFE leverages strong supplier relationships to support availability, stability, and long-term customer needs.
REGIONAL REACH & LOCAL SUPPORT
In 2025, TFE expanded its regional presence through the acquisition of State Supply Company, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. With a long-standing presence in Grand Rapids, State Supply enhances our ability to provide local service, product availability, and customer support throughout West Michigan and the surrounding region.
State Supply Company operates as a service-focused location, supporting customers with responsive local expertise while TFE’s ISO 9001:2015 certified facilities continue to manage production, assembly, and quality-controlled operations. Together, we provide broader coverage without compromising consistency or quality standards.
